Pat LeGrand, owner of "A Touch of Sugar Healthy Lifestyle Center" who was recently featured on the Food Network, was the instructor for this fun, hands-on cooking class designed especially for children with diabetes. Children prepared simple recipes, discussed healthy eating, and tasted the food they’ve prepared. Children also received a special Camp HMK apron. A separate program for parents was held while their children were busy in the kitchen. Parents received helpful “diabetes friendly” cooking tips, recipes and food samples.
